Circular Coal Storage 

This circular coal storage project uses a large-span space frame to create a fully enclosed, column-free storage area. The dome-shaped roof provides sufficient internal clearance for coal stockpiling, conveying and reclaiming operations while protecting the material from wind and rain.

Compared with conventional buildings, circular space frames distribute loads efficiently through a three-dimensional structural system, making them suitable for covering large areas with fewer internal supports. The enclosed design also helps control coal dust, reduce material loss and improve the surrounding plant environment.

MJ Space Structure provides engineering, fabrication and erection support for circular stockpile domes and long-span storage sheds. Key considerations include structural geometry, node accuracy, support reactions, roof cladding interfaces, construction-stage stability and installation sequence.

Similar solutions can be used for storing coal, limestone, clinker, iron ore, phosphate and other bulk materials in power plants, cement plants, mines and port terminals.​
